Melancholie

Melancholy is the happiness of being sad.

Materials: acrylic paint & copper paint

Hand-framed – 100 x 80 cm

Melancholie is a painting about emotional weight; the kind that doesn't overwhelm, but quietly lingers. Through layered greens and blues, I’ve tried to capture a feeling of being present, but distant. Full, but a little hollow.

The subtle touch of copper brings warmth to the canvas; a quiet reminder that even in heaviness, there can be comfort.

This work is about the in-between: not sadness, not peace, but something softer and harder to name. A mood that stays with you, without asking for attention.
