The Prey

Heartbeat. Gunshot. Silence.

Materials: acrylic paint

Hand-framed – 170 x 120 cm

The Prey is a commissioned piece made for a client whose son has a deep passion for hunting. They wanted a work that could reflect this interest while fitting seamlessly into their living space.

I chose to center the composition around a reindeer, a classic symbol within hunting culture, but gave it a bold, commanding presence.

Rather than appearing weak or afraid, the animal exudes power, standing tall with unwavering focus. It blurs the line between prey and predator, capturing that split-second tension just before the gunshot.
